Do you know what SEO is? If you have never heard of search engine optimization, then you probably do not have interest in internet marketing. But if you have an online business then you know that your internet income depends on where your website ranks on the search engine results pages.
You can do your own search engine optimization. Or you can open your wallet and pay a company to do your search engine optimization for you. This might be a good investment, especially if they get your site to the top of the search rankings. But you can also buy software and do your own optimization for a fraction of the cost.
You can find many software programs on the internet to help your optimization efforts. One program helps you determine your keyword saturation level. This is an important factor in your website optimization because you do not want to overload your website with keywords.
Many years ago, website owners jammed their websites with keywords because the search engines would reward top spots to websites with the most keywords. But that is no longer the case. If fact, if you simply load your pages with keywords, the search engines will penalize your site and list it at the bottom of the search results. You do not want this to happen.
But this was a bad result because people complained that the pages they were directed to by the search engines were not very useful. That is why today the search engines will actually penalize the websites that are saturated with keywords. They will list those websites at the bottom of the search results.
You do not want to penalized in this way. So make sure to use a software that will determine your keyword usage. This way you will have a better chance of being listed on the first page of search results. The criteria for search engine ranking is always changing, but keywords will always be at the foundation of search engine optimization in one form or another.
